Bluegrass Weekend
4 - 6 September 2026
A weekend immersed in bluegrass
At a unique outdoor location in the heart of the Green Heart of the Netherlands, at Nature Campsite De Oude Boomgaard, everything revolves around music.
Experienced bluegrass teachers from home and abroad give intensive instrument-specific workshops in small groups. Here, you not only learn the tricks of the trade but you also gain new inspiration and musical insights.
When the sun has set in the evening, the day can be concluded with a joint jam session, where participants and teachers can make music together until deep into the night.
The weekend will conclude with a festive event featuring performances in an intimate setting by and for the participants.
Jamming
Jamming is the essence of bluegrass. Whether you are a beginner or already have experience, jamming is the best way to grow as a musician. Beginners learn the basics of bluegrass and gain confidence, while advanced players can hone their own playing and gain new insights by playing together. Switching roles and playing together with different skill levels makes the jam sessions a rich learning experience. The jams are led by the instructors.
For a good jam, everyone is important. If you are a beginner, you can play the rhythm. Advanced players can let loose on the runs and licks they’ve just learned, and the pros can solo. From the very beginning, you learn to play along by ear, follow chords, and actively listen to others. It’s all about having fun.
Band lab
For those who would like to gain stage experience, there is Band lab. Under the guidance of one of the instructors, you will rehearse one or two bluegrass classics as a band, which you can perform for the other camp participants at the end of the weekend.
Whether you want to improve your playing, explore new musical directions, or are simply looking for new inspiration, this unique Dutch bluegrass summer camp is the ideal opportunity. It will be a weekend you will never forget.
The summer camp will go ahead if there are enough registrations. So drag all your friends along! You will receive a message as soon as there are sufficient registrations, no later than July 20, 2026. To finalize your registration, you will also receive a payment link around that time.
